Dear 2016 Self,
Congratulations on successfully completing this 2015. I’d like to start by saying that I’m proud of you. You graduated college, dedicated time to improving your health by lifting weights, and you’re still finding ways to travel. Also, in spite of your difficulty in making decisions, you started this lovely blog to share your growth and creativity with whoever read it. Not a bad year if I do say so myself. This year I have big plans and ideas for you:
I hope this year you are open to unplanned possibilities because living in the moment can sometimes yield greater happiness than all of your plans.
I hope you become aware of your own potential….of how powerful and capable you are.
I hope you have faith and let go of the paths that have not yet been revealed to you. As you know what was meant for you will never miss you.
I hope you spend less time on your phone and more time connecting with yourself and others.
I hope you get in touch with the vulnerable part of who you are and allows others to experience the fullness of you.
I hope you become more in tune with your needs and nurture and love your body.
I hope you share your gifts and talents freely. You never know who you may help by being creative and genuine in your endeavors.
I hope you express gratitude for the moment, for your journey, for the tremendous gift it is to be alive, healthy, and loved.
I hope you follow your curiosity and desire for new experiences. Being stagnant and bored is a function of your inability to see the numerous possibilities ahead.
I hope you never forget why you started. You write for your own clarity, not for website clicks. The more you create from that place, the better off you will be.
I hope you stop second guessing what you know in your heart to be true. Sometimes it is better to be fearless when following your intuition than it is to look the other way.
I hope you expand with arms open into love, into discomfort, into growth, into happiness, and into uncertainty because being guarded will never fulfill you.
I wish all these things for you this year and always.
